Abstract: Brazil and Portugal have more things in common than just to speak the same language. They are both intermediate developing countries, Portugal developing fast since it became part of the European Union, Brazil less successful in the last 20 years, but having the weight of being a large economy. The challenges the two countries face in the global world are similar.
